Drama as Mr Ibu’s wife and daughter ‘fight’ over donations

On her Instagram page recently, Stella responded to allegations that she is trying to divert the money donated for Mr Ibu's treatment to fund her lavish lifestyle

Stella Maris Okafor, the wife of Mr Ibu, has called out Jasmine Chioma Okafor, who is Ibu’s adopted daughter for peddling lies against her.

On her Instagram page recently, Stella responded to allegations that she is trying to divert the money donated for Mr Ibu’s treatment to fund her lavish lifestyle.

Stella Maris accused Jasmine of being behind the spreading of the negative news and for making her an “outsider” in her own home.

She called Jasmine a “complete stranger,” an “imposter,” and questioned her “excessive interference” in her own home.

Ibu’s wife also alleged that Jasmine is the one secretly controlling Mr Ibu’s main bank account.

She added that Jasmine’s “campaign of calumny” against her began when she asked for her husband’s statement of account after she noticed “some funny attitudes and movements, especially by Jasmine.”

“I only asked for transparency in the handling of public donations, instead of secrecy, and hell was let loose,” Stella Maris wrote. “To date, I have no idea about the status of that account. Very strange.”

This comes just months after Stella Maris publicly disclosed that Jasmine is not Ibu’s biological daughter. (Read also:  Doctors amputate Mr Ibu’s leg to keep him alive.)

She insinuated at the time that Jasmine is Ibu’s girlfriend, a claim that Ibu and his sons from their previous relationship rubbished. Jasmine Chioma also rubbished the claims and slammed Stella Maris.

Graphic Showbizreported last week when the family of renowned Nigerian actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu revealed that a dire medical situation had led to the amputation of one of his legs as a life-saving measure.

The public got to know of Mr. Ibu’s health struggles in October through a social media appeal, which prompted a wave of support from fans and well-wishers who came forward to assist with his medical treatment.

In a statement posted on the actor’s Instagram page on Monday November 6, the family shared the challenging journey Mr Ibu has been through.
