Murdered Mfantseman MP, Ekow Hayford, to be buried Saturday

Ekow Quansah Hayford, the murdered MP for Mfantseman, is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday (28 November) at Mankessim in the Central Region.

The family of the late MP has outlined a series of event starting from Friday with a night of hymns and tribute in honour of the late MP at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim on 27 November 2020.

On Saturday, the body will be laid in state for the burial service before it will be conveyed to the Mankessim cemetery for interment.

The funeral will be climaxed with a thanksgiving service at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim on Sunday (29 November).

Ruthless assailants

Hayford was shot dead on Friday 9 October, 2020 around 1am by suspected armed robbers. The incident happened on the Abeadze-Dominase Abeadze Duadzi -Mankessim road as he was returning from a campaign trip.

The assailants reportedly stopped the five-man travelling party and threatened them. Even though Hayford told them that he was a lawmaker, according to eyewitness account, they still went ahead and shot him.
