Mahama becomes Nkosuohene of Apesika in Bono East

The people of Apesika in Bono East have installed the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, as the area’s development chief

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has been installed as the development chief (Nkosuohene) of the Apesika Traditional Area in the Kintampo South constituency of the Bono East Region.

Under the stool name Nana Beyeman Kwame Ababio I, Mahama was taken through the customary rites by the chief of Jema and Kyidomhene of the Nkoranza Traditional Council, Nana Amponsah Gyan II.

Also present was the MP for Kintampo South, Honourable Felicia Adjei (NDC).

Massive development

Nana Amponsah Gyan declared that the NDC presidential candidate deserves to be honoured, because he undertook massive development projects in the area when he was the president of Ghana.

Speaking on Friday (18 September) at a durbar in honour of Mahama, Nana Amponsah Gyan acknowledged projects such as roads, water and schools as some of the legacy projects of the Mahama government between 2013 and 2016.

The chief was however unhappy that projects started during Mahama’s tenure have been abandoned by the Akufo-Addo government.

Nana Amponsah Gyan therefore urged his people to return the NDC to power by voting for Mr Mahama in the 7 December presidential election, to enable him to carry on from where he left off in 2016.

For his part, Mr Mahama expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and people of Apesika for the honour bestowed on him.

He said that after he is elected as president on 7 December, the next NDC government will complete all the abandoned projects.
