North East: Mimi Cares Foundation supports Gaagbini flood victims

Mimi Cares Foundation has its headquarters in Takoradi but works across the country to support the less privileged in society

Mimi Cares Foundation, an NGO in the Western Region, has donated some relief items to flood victims at Gaagbini in the West Mamprusi municipality of the North East Region.

The donation was made on Saturday (14 October 2023) to sympathize with the flood victims in the area.

The relief items presented include bags of rice, used clothes, toiletries, liquid soap, slippers, pens for school children, assorted drinks, flip-flops, and other relief items to sympathize with the victims who were hit hard by the torrential rains on 9 August 2023.

The CEO of Mimi Cares Foundation, Deborah Esi Wilson said; “We heard about the tragedy that happened in the North East Region of Ghana, Gaagbini and decided to come in to bring in our little support. Basically, we came here because of the flooding that happened in August to show our little love for the people.”

Wilson, after seeing the havoc caused on the ground, is also appealing to other NGOs and philanthropists to help the victims get back to normalcy.

The NGO also urged other philanthropists to support the victims.

On his part, the chief of the Gaagbini community, Naa Yidana Alhassan, thanked Mimi’s Cares Foundation for their unwavering support and still called on the government to come to their aid.
