Election 2020: Andah, Ayisi, Oduro lose seats

Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui floored the deputy Minister for Communications, George Andah, in the Awutu Senya West constituency race

George Andah, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, has lost his seat to his main contender Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

Andah who doubles as Deputy Communications Minister polled 29, 832 votes as against Tetteh-Agbotui’s 32,708 votes.

The result makes Andah a one-term parliamentarian.

Tetteh-Agbotui is the sister of former MP for the constituency, Hannah Tetteh.

In a related development, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Barbara Asher Ayisi, has lost her seat to Dr Kwamina Minta Nyarku of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Provisional results show Dr Nyarku polled 22,972 against Ayisi’s 21,643.

Meanwhile, Deputy Defence Minister, Major (rtd) Derek Oduro, has lost the Nkoranza North seat.

He was defeated by Joseph Kwasi Mensah of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

The NDC candidate polled 15,124 votes while the incumbent MP polled 10,978 votes.
