Bole Wura denies Mahama enskinment as “Chief of Truth”

The paramount chief of Bole, Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, has denied reponsibility for alleged enskinment of John Mahama, the former president, as the “Chief of Truth”

The paramount chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, has denied the reputed enskinment in Bole of John Mahama, the former president, as the “Chief of Truth” during his recent visit to the area.

According to news stories in some parts of the media and the Twitter handle of John Mahama, the Bole Wura, on 5 August 2020, enskinned the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as “Kasintin Wura” (Chief of Truth) at his palace.

However, in a press statement signed by the Bole Wura, the paramount chiefs said that the purported enskinment of John Mahama cannot be true because, on the day of the visit, he was out of Bole and could therefore not have been the one who performed the enskinment rights.

“I wish to put on record that I have been out of Bole for about a week now and therefore could not have been the one who did the enskinment or under my authority,” the Bole Wura said.

On 5 August 2020, the former president posted on his Twitter handle, @John Dramani Mahama, as follows: “My chief, Bole Wuraa Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, and his elders surprised me with a new title, Chief of Truth, during my visit to Bole on Wednesday. I thank them and the good people of the Bole Bamboi constituency for their loyalty and support to the NDC and to me since my entry into politics in 1996.”

On the day of the enskinment, Mahama took his turn to register for a voter Identity card at the Bole District Assembly registration centre in Bole, Savannah Region. He was accompanied by the NDC 2020 campaign chairman, Joshua Alabi, and other dignitaries.
