Police place GHC50,000 bounty on Accra robbers

The police say they are introducing “urgent additional security measures” to arrest robbers operating in the Greater Accra area

The Ghana Police Service has offered a financial reward of GHC50,000 for information leading to the arrest of gangs of robbers operating in the Greater Accra Region.

On Friday 24 September 2021, robbers struck in broad daylight in Sampa Valley, near the Weija barrier in Accra. A similar incident happened in Achimota where a driver was robbed of an unspecified amount of money at a traffic intersection.

On Friday the police gave their assurance to residents of Accra that they have introduced urgent additional security measures to arrest the robbers.

They further urged members of the public to bear with the Police Service to enable the rollout of the “scaled-up measures to deal with the threat”.
