Akomea: Bawumia’s incorruptibility makes him stand tall against Mahama

The two main candidates of the NPP and NDC who were elected by their respective party's last year, are yet to officially announce a running mate ahead of the December polls

Nana Akomea, the director of communications of the Bawumia Campaign Team has said the 2024 presidential candidate of the governing NPP Mahamudu Bawumia is in a pole position to snatch victory from his main opponent John Mahama of the opposition NDC in the 2024 Elections

The two main candidates of the NPP and NDC who were elected by their respective parties last year, are yet to officially announce running mates ahead of the December polls.

In an interview with Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Akomea on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (15 January), Akomea said Bawumia’s incorruptibility will do the trick against Mahama in the upcoming election.

“One of the things that have worried most Ghanaians and still worries them is corruption, John Mahama is a known entity, he has been president for over four years, so he has been tried and his track record is there for people to see.

“And his track record on corruption is as bad as anything you can imagine, and in many of the corrupt cases when he was president had involved him directly, remember the Ford car gate and the lies that were told Ghanaians.”

“Given the choice between Bawumia and Mahama, Bawumia is better positioned in terms of the fight against corruption than Mahama, because clearly Mahama has been tried and tested and the verdict of the Ghanaian people as given in the 2016 election is very clear,” Akomea said.
