Pictures: NPP elects new national executives

Stephen Ntim has finally been crowned national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his fifth attempt at running for the position

After nail-biting moments at the annual delegates’ conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Accra, Justin Frimpong Kodua staged the biggest upset of the election by beating John Boadu, the incumbent general secretary of the party.

Kodua garnered 2,837 votes (51.34%) to beat Boadu, who had 2,524 (45.6%) votes.

Frederick Opare-Ansah obtained 50 votes (0.9%), Iddrisu Musah (aka Musah Superior) won 104 votes (1.88%) and Ramseyer Agyeman-Prempeh had eight (0.14%).

Interestingly, Charles Bissue, who pulled out of the general secretary race, also secured 12 votes (0.22%).

Chairmanship

Ntim received 4,014 votes (72.76%), against his main contender, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, who garnered 1,010 votes (18.31%).

George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah won 294 votes (5.33%), Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi had 101 (1.83%) and Gifty Asantewaa Ayeh (aka Daavi Ama) won 44 votes (0.8%). Sammy Crabbe received 32 votes (0.58%) and Akwasi Osei-Adjei won 20 (0.36%).
