
The police have announced road closures in parts of the capital, Accra, ahead of the 59th ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Accra on Saturday 19 June 2021.
A statement issued by the Director of public affairs of the Police Service, Sheila Kessie Abayie-Buckman, advised the public to observe the road traffic arrangements for the events to enhance free flow of traffic for motorists.
The police say some principal streets in the capital including Jubilee Lounge (KIA) to Liberation Road, Opeibea, Airport traffic light through the Independence Avenue, Ako Adjei interchange, the National Theatre traffic light, National Theatre leading to the Accra International Conference Centre will be closed at some points in time to the public between 6am and 9am on Saturday 19 June and Sunday 20 June.
The service has, however, advised motorist to take alternative routes to ensure a successful hosting of the 59th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS by Ghana.
