Pat Thomas: Sarkodie’s mom inspired collaboration with her son
Sarkodie in his 2015 Mary Album collaborated with the veteran to produce a timeless highlife piece titled, 'Bra'

Legendary highlife musician, Pat Thomas (born Nana Kwabena Amo Mensah), has said his collaboration with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie was based on a suggestion by the latter’s mother.
Sarkodie in his 2015 Mary Album collaborated with the veteran to produce a timeless highlife piece titled, ‘Bra’.
Speaking on the Between Hours show with Keely Jade-Brewer on Monday (24 July), Pat Thomas said: “Sark invited me with his mom to dinner and at that dinner the decision to do something together came up.”
“His mother recommended it and I second-motioned to that and we did,” he said on Asaase 99.5 Accra, describing the collaboration as his best ever so far.
“As a matter of fact, I like all of them but I will choose me and Sark,” Pat Thomas said in reference to previous collaborations with others.
“Well myself and Sarkodie go way back. I know his mother. His mother used to come wherever I played, especially at Tip-Toe Night Club.”
“I later found out she was Sarkodie’s mom,” Pat Thomas said.
