Abu Jinapor acclaimed NPP parliamentary candidate for Damongo

Samuel Abu Jinapor who went unopposed during the recent primaries of the NPP has officially been acclaimed and confirmed by the Electoral Commission as the parliamentary candidate for Damongo

The Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has officially been acclaimed by the Electoral Commission as the parliamentary candidate for Damongo to represent the New Patriotic Party (NP) in the upcoming December general elections.

Speaking at the event on Saturday, (17 February 2024} , Jinapor said that if there will be one seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on 7 December 2024, that was going come from Damongo.

“Man of Action”, as he is referred to by many, Jinapor assured the NPP that Damongo will contribute its effectively to “break the eight” and make Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the next president of Ghana.

“The Savannah Region will be a true battleground in the 2024 elections. Every vote will be contested for and every seat will be contested for the NPP. Mr general secretary, be rest assured”, Jinapor added.

The lawmaker urged the general secretary of the party to convey the positive news that the Savannah Region is firmly in favour of the NPP, stating, “We will win Damongo for the NPP and we will secure a significant number of seats for the NPP, with God ensuring this success.”

“Let us unite and back Jinapor, back Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and back the NPP to win the Savannah Region for the incumbent government.”

The general secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, who was the special guest of honour, commended Jinapor for his good relations with the people in the region and urged unity among party members to be able to win more seats in the Savannah Region.

On her part, the minister-designate for Information, Fatimatu Abubakari, said humility, dedication, vision and selflessness are some key exemplary and commendable virtues of Jinapor, which have been paramount in his rise in the political space.

Fatimatu cited some developmental projects initiated by the MP, including the construction of astroturf, educational opportunities and massive infrastructure works as evidence of the efforts of Jinapor in Damongo and the Savannah Region as a whole.

The Savannah regional chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu Kalamonia, warned the opposition NDC that the NPP will chase for every single vote in the region.

He urged party supporters to work together to achieve their aim.

In attendance at the acclamation ceremony were Fatimatu Abubakari, Minister Designate for the Information; Francis Asenso Boakye, Minister Designate for Roads and Highways; Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Chieftency and Religious Affairs; Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the Savannah Regional Minister, Professor Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu, the Savannah Regional Chairman of the NPP, CEO of Forestry Commission, John Allotey, Damongo constituency and regional executives across the Savannah region.
