Parliament to reconvene on 27 May for second meeting

The upcoming meeting is expected to see the House deliberate on various government bills, policy statements, and reports from committees, in line with its legislative functions

The Parliament of Ghana is set to resume sittings on Tuesday (27 May 2025), for the Second Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

This announcement was made in a notice issued and signed by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. The notice, dated 12 May 2025, states that the House will reconvene at 10 am at Parliament House in Accra.

“In pursuance of Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the Second Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Tuesday, the 27th day of May, 2025, at ten o’clock in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra,” the statement read.

The upcoming meeting is expected to see the House deliberate on various government bills, policy statements, and reports from committees, in line with its legislative functions.

The reconvening follows the close of the first meeting earlier this year, with the Speaker’s notice now setting the stage for the next phase of parliamentary business.
