Oti Region: NPP women’s organiser urges supporters to abstain from politics of insult

NPP

The Oti  Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alice Mensah, has called on supporters of the party to eschew politics of insults, vindictiveness and internal wrangling.

She said this will ensure peace and stability and help the party clinch victory in the 2024 general elections.

She said it is important for party faithful to refrain from hatred and other acts, which could tarnish the image of the party, and rather pursue unity and mutual understanding to strengthen it at the grassroots.

Speaking at a victory campaign launched in the Oti Region, she urged members to avoid hate speech to attract many people to the party.

“Let us really stand behind all the parliamentary candidates across the Oti region and vote massively for them to win the seats in the Oti region, most importantly our presidential candidate, Dr Bawumia, to continue with the good visions and policies the NPP party has for Ghanaians.”

“The NPP party will continue to create women empowerment opportunities for all women, create an inclusive, sustainable environment for our collective growth through innovative ways,” she said.

She encouraged the party members in the region and other parts of the country to explain to people the good policies of the government and the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led government.

“Breaking the eight is possible, doable and achievable, but it requires unity and cooperation among supporters to win the presidential slot and majority seats in parliament in 2024,” she stated.

“We can’t sit down on the fence looking at others to work while we can all work together to achieve this dream of breaking the 8.”

“Despite the hard work and development brought to the doorsteps of Ghanaians, it is important for us all to work hard in our various polling stations and constituencies. Creating hatred for each other can cause us to lose the election. We must refrain from hatred and other acts, which could tarnish the image of the party, and rather pursue unity and mutual understanding to strengthen it at the grassroots,” Mensah said.

On her part, the Deputy National Women’s Organiser, Mimi Duah, commends the Oti regional women’s wing for their support for the party.

Adding that, the NPP government has a future for Ghanaians, hence the need to rally behind the party for victory in 2024.

She said, breaking the eight is possible, doable and achievable, but it requires unity and cooperation among supporters to win the presidential slot and majority seats in parliament in 2024.

“NPP is the only party that has good plans and a future for this country and we must make that a reality come 7 December general election.

Meanwhile, the Oti regional minister, Daniel Machator, encouraged the party members in the region and other parts of the country to explain to people the good policies of the government and the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led government.

Sighting an example of the policies, he mentioned the free Senior High school policy, school feeding, digitalisation, DRIP and many others.

“it takes women to build a strong home and put families together and we have a strong faith and trust in our women that, with them preaching the good work to their children and households at the polling station and constituency levels, the NPP party will surely break the 8 ” he urged.

In an interview with Asaase News, Elizabeth Otuka from the Office of the Vice President urged Ghanaian youths to embrace peace and unity ahead, during and after the election.

“it is not worth killing people or allowing yourself to be killed over election because elections will come and go and politics continues without the victim; hence, there is the need to eschew political violence and allow peace and unity to rain in the country.”

She urged all Ghanaians to remain calm even under provocations that will lead to violence.

The program was attended by party members and followers, traditional leaders, and some national women executives of the party.
