OSP seeks to call additional witness as PPA case adjourned to January 2026

The trial involving the former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) resumed on Monday, 8 December 2025, with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) seeking leave of the court to call an additional witness.

In a statement posted today on Facebook,  the OSP states that the request forms part of a pending motion placed before the trial court as the OSP continues its prosecution of the high-profile case.

The matter has since been adjourned to 20 January 2026 for continuation.

According to information available, the OSP has “dutifully conducted” the case since the current Special Prosecutor assumed office.

A further internal review of the docket necessitated a strategic re-direction in the conduct of the trial, hence the application to introduce another witness.

The OSP reiterated its commitment to pursuing the matter without fear or favour, emphasising that all decisions taken in the case are “in the best interest of the Republic.”

The trial, which has attracted significant public and institutional attention, stems from investigations into procurement-related irregularities during the tenure of the former PPA head.
