Opinion: Upholding integrity; A Defence of Godfred Yeboah Dame against baseless allegations

Dame is a principled person with unwavering conviction, and attempts to besmirch his name will only serve to strengthen support for him

In recent days, the political arena has been abuzz with allegations aimed at tarnishing the impeccable reputation of Hon. Godfred Yeboah Dame, Minister of Attorney General and Justice. The National Democratic Congress (NDC), spearheaded by figures like Sammi Gyamfi and Asiedu Nketia, has resorted to desperate tactics, including the manipulation of supposed evidence, to cast unwarranted aspersions on a man of unquestionable integrity.

The latest accusation centered around the alleged tampering of a witness, Mr Richard Jakpa, is not just an assault on Hon. Dame’s character but a blatant attempt to derail justice and divert attention from pertinent issues at hand. Let us dissect this baseless claim with the clarity it deserves.

Firstly, let us not forget that Hon. Godfred Yeboah Dame is no stranger to the legal arena. His track record is replete with triumphs in landmark cases, showcasing his unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law. To insinuate that such a distinguished legal mind would stoop to the level of tampering with witnesses is not just preposterous but insulting to the very essence of justice.

Furthermore, the alleged audio recording, purportedly implicating Hon. Dame and Mr. Jakpa, reeks of fabrication and political vendetta. It serves as nothing more than a smokescreen, obscuring the glaring truth behind the importation of those infamous white elephant ambulances, a matter that demands thorough investigation and accountability.

Let us be clear: Hon. Godfred Yeboah Dame has nothing to gain from engaging in petty political maneuvers. His integrity stands unblemished, fortified by a steadfast dedication to the principles of fairness and transparency. The notion that he would resort to such underhanded tactics to score political points is not just absurd but insulting to the intelligence of the Ghanaian people.

In conclusion, let us rise above the mire of cheap politics and focus on what truly matters: upholding the sanctity of our legal system and ensuring justice prevails. Godfred Yeboah Dame embodies these principles with unwavering conviction, and attempts to besmirch his name will only serve to strengthen our resolve in defending truth and integrity.
