The Suhum Municipal Fire Station swiftly responded at 0943 hours to a road traffic accident at Owura Twum off the Kibi–Suhum Road on Monday, 12 January 2026.
A crew of seven (7) GNFS rescuers, led by ASTNO Kissiedu, arrived at the scene at 1015 hours and retrieved one (1) trapped deceased casualty from an OPEL Vectra saloon car (GT 8521-N).
The crew also facilitated the transport of the other three (3) injured victims to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the accident was caused by a rear tyre burst, which led the vehicle to somersault and land upside down in the bush. In all, four (4) casualties were recorded, comprising one (1) male and three (3) females, with one female fatality.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the Police at the scene for preservation and further investigations. The affected vehicle sustained partial damage. Firefighters cleared the scene and restored traffic flow before departing at 1128 hours.
