Okwawu United unviells Golden Jubilee logo ahead of 50th anniversary

The club, formed in 1975, competes in the Access Division One League with a deep-rooted connection to the people of Kwahu and beyond.

Okwawu United Football Club launched an official “golden jubilee” logo on Wednesday (15 April) ahead of its 50th anniversary celebration.

The club, formed in 1975, competes in the Access Division One League with a deep-rooted connection to the people of Kwahu and beyond.

The Nkwakaw-based club is third in Zone 3 of the Division One league table, with aspirations to reach the Ghana Premier League by the anniversary in June.

The Aban@50 logo unveiled at the Ineos Showroom in the Silver Star Towers, Accra, features a bold and elegant design with the number 50 styled in black, as 0 forms a perfect circle that overlays a golden rectangular background.  Inside the “0” is the Kwahuman stool in gold.

“This logo signifies the ‘transition from dark days to the golden era’, it represents the struggles of the club in the last 50 years, and the golden stage,” Okwawu United FC Club Executive, Emmanuel Akoto Bamfo, said.

The event was graced by legends of the club, including Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer Fatawu Dauda and George Tutu.

“Okwawu United gave me the chance to play in the Premier League. If the club does not make it to the Ghana Premier League this season, trust me, it will happen next season,” Fatawu Dauda said.
