Ashanti NPP executives petition against Chairman Wontumi’s alleged neglect

The petitioners accuse Wontumi of failing to convene crucial meetings, thereby hindering the necessary consensus-building processes on important party matters.

Six elected Ashanti regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have formally lodged a complaint against regional chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi.’

The accusations leveled against Wontumi paint a picture of discord and neglect within the party’s leadership.

The petitioners accuse Wontumi of failing to convene crucial meetings, thereby hindering the necessary consensus-building processes on important party matters.

Moreover, concerns have been raised regarding the neglect of regional executives in addressing pressing party issues, exacerbating unresolved divisions within the party’s ranks.

One of the key grievances highlighted in the petition is the alleged underutilisation of party structures under Wontumi’s leadership, signaling a potential inefficiency in leveraging the party’s organizational framework for maximum impact.

In response to these mounting concerns, the petitioners are calling for decisive action. They propose that the scheduled regional inauguration of the campaign team, slated for Sunday (24 March), be postponed to allow for a thorough examination and resolution of the issues at hand.
