GAA/NSA inaugurate Northeast Athletics Association

Seven-member committee inaugurated to ensure growth of athletics in the North East Region

The Ghana Athletics Association and the National Sports Authority have inaugurated the North East Athletics Association (NEAA) in Walewale at Walewale Social Center in the North East Region.

Seven-member executives chaired by Mr. Duut Daniel Janamah have been charged to ensure the growth of athletics in the North East Region.

Ghana Athletics Association General secretary Fuseini Bawa tasked the newly appointed executives to manage the affairs of athletics to unearth talents in the area.

GAA president Mr. Afoladam encouraged the new executives to take up their tasks seriously, that the North East today has a Son “ Tia Kologo” who is placed as the second best long runner in the country.

National Sports Authority Board Chairman, Hon Seth Panwum Boyoyo, urged the new executives to be innovative in their core mandate of unearthing talents in the region.

He also mentioned that plans are in place for the Northern Zone to host the next cross-country event next year.

Hon Boyoyo appealed to the GAA national executives to support these growing regional executives to execute their tasks as required.

Chairman of the seven-member committee, Duut Daniel Janamah in his acceptance speech, acknowledged the efforts made by the NSA Board Chairman and the GAA executives to ensure this process came to a successful end.

He promised of his team’s absolute commitment to ensuring the North East gets the best of athletes for Ghana.

The event which took place on Wednesday 5th October, 2022 had the National Board Chairman of Hon Seth Panwum Boyoyo, Ghana Athletics Association President Mr Afoladam, GAA Secretary Fuseini Bawa,  GAA treasurer Christoph and the Patrons Linlaar Kantam and Alhjai Bawa Abuba.

The 7-member executive are:

  2. Bugari Saasi _ Vice Chairman
  3. Kenneth Francis _ Secretary/Technical Director
  4. Gifty Dakurugu_ Member
  5. Abass Musah_ Member
  6. Sadat Zukaleni Chirifu_ Member
  7. David Dawda Dahamani_ Member
