Gold Fields appoints Emma Morrison as regional head of corporate affairs

Emma Morrison will be responsible for managing Gold Fields Ghana’s reputation and brand in line with the group’s investor relations

Emma Morrison, a TV personality and media consultant, has been appointed as the new regional manager of corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement of Gold Fields Ghana, the firm has announced.

Her appointment takes effect from 4 January 2021.

She will be “responsible for managing Gold Fields Ghana’s reputation and brand in line with Gold Fields Group’s investor relations and corporate affairs strategies”, a statement from the mining giant said.

Emma Morrison started her media career at TV3, working with the station as a news reporter and a newscaster when it was established in 1997.

She later assumed a role as the editor of Joy News TV.

Before joining Gold Fields, she was the acting general manager for the Joy Cluster of the Multimedia Group and also worked as a consultant for Metro TV Ghana.

In 2019, Emma Morrison was adjudged Corporate Personality of the Year at the Glitz
Women of the Year Honours.

She has won various awards, such as Newscaster of the Year and TV Personality of the Year, and her programme News 360 has been named TV News Programme of the Year.

Emma began her education in the United Kingdom, where she attended Dollis Junior School and Childshill School, both in north-west London. She enrolled at Goldfields Preparatory School when she relocated to Ghana.

She also attended Wesley Girls’ High School and Tarkwa Secondary School.

Emma Mitchell is a product of the Ghana Institute of Journalism. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Leeds with an MA in communication.
