Spike Lee: I never knew Ghana had a thriving film industry

The filmmaker, who has four decades of experience in the film industry is currently part of US Vice President Kamala Harris's creative arts team

Popular American filmmaker and actor, Shelton Jackson, also known as Spike Lee has said he had no idea Ghana had a thriving film industry until he arrived in the country a few days ago.

The filmmaker, who has four decades of experience in the film industry is currently part of US Vice-President Kamala Harris’s creative arts team.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Asaase 99.5 Radio’s Benjamin Offei-Addo, Lee said: “I didn’t know there was a thriving film industry in Ghana.”

“I know about Nigeria, and no one has approached me from the film industry in Ghana. I will love to meet people in the film industry but no one has approached me,” Lee said.
