
The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of another suspect, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, popularly known as Akosua Black Chinese, in connection with the violent disturbances that erupted during the Nsoatreman FC vs. Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC match on Sunday (2 February).
This latest arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to six, as police intensify their intelligence-led operation to track down all individuals involved.
Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The match, which was held at the Nsoatreman Sports Stadium, was marred by violent clashes among spectators, tragically resulting in the death of a Kotoko supporter.
Following the incident, law enforcement swiftly intervened and launched investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In a statement, the Police reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring accountability for those responsible.
“The intelligence-led operation and investigation remain ongoing to ensure all individuals connected to the incident are arrested and held accountable,” the statement read.
