NPP’s absence is being felt by Ghanaians, says Dr Opoku Prempeh

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, a running mate to the 2024 New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, says Ghanaians are already feeling the effects of the NPP’s absence from power.
In a Facebook post following a meeting with the NPP Regional Chairman for Bono East and constituency executives in Wenchi on Thursday (24 April), Dr Opoku Prempeh highlighted the growing frustrations among citizens and warned that only a united party could chart a path back to government.
“… the absence of the NPP has already been felt by the people of Ghana,” he wrote, stressing that internal division remains the biggest threat to the NPP’s hopes for victory in 2028.
He cautioned that a fragmented party, regardless of the strength of its flagbearer, stood little chance of winning future elections.
Dr Opoku Prempeh urged party leaders to defend unity at all costs, adding: “United, we stand tall; divided, we fall.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to working towards a united front as the NPP prepares for a comeback in the next general elections.
