NPP-USA youth organiser Danny Opoku Antwi unveils agenda in bid for branch organiser role

A youth organiser of the New Patriotic Party’s United States branch (NPP-USA) has outlined plans to strengthen party structures and expand membership as he seeks election as branch organiser.

Danny Opoku Antwi, who currently serves as youth organiser for NPP-USA, said his proposed agenda would focus on improving event coordination, boosting membership and enhancing the party’s visibility within the diaspora.

Shared vision

In a policy statement released ahead of the internal contest, Antwi said he would work closely with deputies and other party organs to plan and execute activities approved by the branch.

“Every program will reflect our shared vision and strategic goals,” he said.

He also pledged to strengthen communication efforts by collaborating with the party’s communication department to ensure that activities undertaken by the branch are documented and publicised.

“Our branch will be visible not just locally but globally,” Antwi said.

Expanding membership base

A key part of his proposal involves expanding the party’s membership base through recruitment drives targeting young people and professionals within the Ghanaian diaspora in the United States.

Antwi said he would work with chapter organisers and party wings to maintain stronger contact with members while encouraging broader participation in party activities.

He also proposed the creation of coordinating committees, subject to the necessary approvals, to support the planning and implementation of programmes within the branch.

Rebranding NPP-USA

Under his plan, the branch would adopt an annual planning framework in which a detailed programme of activities – including symposia, public debates, health workshops and outreach to overseas branches – would be presented alongside a proposed budget for approval by the executive committee.

Antwi said he would also prioritise promoting the party’s brand through traditional and digital media platforms, including print, radio, television and social media.

Beyond organisational goals, he emphasised the importance of unity and inclusiveness within the branch.

“Everyone’s voice matters. I will encourage active participation and create an environment where all members feel valued and empowered,” he said.

Antwi added that he would seek to mediate disputes within the party where necessary to maintain unity and long-term stability.

The New Patriotic Party has a number of overseas branches, including in the United States, which mobilise support among the Ghanaian diaspora and contribute to party organisation and outreach abroad.
