Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a stalwart of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated newly-elected regional executives of the party.
The NPP over the weekend elected regional officers to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years .
Twelve incumbent regional chairmen of the NPP retained their seats after the party’s regional delegates conference which began on Friday and ended on Sunday.
However, the incumbent chairmen in the Bono East and the Western North regions could not maintain their positions.
“Congratulations to all the new regional executives of the New Patriotic Party! Special congratulations to Samba, Divine, Jeff and Wontumi! You all fought a good fight,” Gabby posted on Facebook.
He added: “Proud of the Eastern Region, and how the regional executives and the various campaign teams conducted themselves and with the EC organised the regional executives elections. The only one of the Big 5 Regions with no reported issues . Congrats to all!.”
Out of the 12 who retained their positions, the Western regional chairman, Francis Ndede Siah, went unopposed.
Meanwhile, the election in the Central Region is outstanding due to a court injunction.
