NPP has blueprint to develop Ghana, says Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo calls on Ghanaians to renew his mandate on 7 December because the New Patriotic Party has a credible plan to transform Ghana

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a credible blueprint for the development of Ghana.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd in Begoro, in the Fanteakwa North consituency of the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo said a decision by local people to vote for him in the 2020 general election on 7 December will determine if he will have the opportunity to realise his vision for the country.

“My message to you is that if the works of my hands are pleasing to you, then I plead with you to vote massively for me again in the 2020 elections so I can continue with my agenda for the country,” Akufo-Addo said.

“Another four years for me will be characterised by unprecedented development that will turn Ghana around. The New Patriotic Party has a blueprint for the development of our country, which is going to take place in Akufo-Addo’s second term, with multi-developments,” he declared.

NPP candidates

The president also stressed the importance of Begoro constituents voting not only for him, but also for the NPP parliamentary candidate for Fanteakwa North, Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah, the incumbent MP.

He also urged voters to support all the other 32 parliamentary candidates standing on the NPP ticket in the region.

Anyone who might be running as an independent candidate in any constituency in the Eastern Region is certainly not a member of the New Patriotic Party, he said, nor does he have any relationship with them.

“It is not possible for just me to form a government and rule the country if you vote for me,” Akufo-Addo said. “I need NPP Members of Parliament to be able to govern the country effectively and that is why I call on you to vote for all NPP parliamentary candidates in the 2020 elections.”

Tafo stopover

The president’s next stop was Tafo, in Abuakwa North.

Akufo-Addo reiterated his argument that the NPP has a well-thought-out plan to develop Ghana.

The people of Abuakwa North must empower him by voting him into office for a second term by a clear margin, he said, that cannot be challenged by his opponents in any way.

Packed itinerary

On day two of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, President Akufo-Addo is expected to make whistlestop visits to at least four large towns and the region’s biggest city.

He will meet voters in Aburi, in Akuapem South, Atimpoku (Asuogyaman constituency), Odumase in Lower Manya Krobo and Somanya in Yilo Krobo. He will end his tour in Koforidua, the regional capital and centre of New Juaben South.
