NPP Central Region holds executives’ election 4 June

The party, according to officials, has resolved all outstanding issues making way for the internal polls to commence this weekend.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Saturday (4 June) hold its regional executives’ election in the Central Region after it was initially put on hold due to a court injunction.

Some delegates of the Ekumfi constituency sued the party over alleged electoral breaches. The party, according to officials, has resolved all outstanding issues making way for the internal polls to commence this weekend.

“It’s confirmed that Friday (3 June) the Ekumfi constituency will conduct its constituency delegates’ conference and then have their election done, and Saturday (4 June) the regional conference will take place,” the national director of research and elections, Evans Nimako told Asaase News.

“The national council was directed to look into the Ekumfi issue, that has been done,” he added. “Recommendation has been given and actions have been acted upon.”

“With that done, the way is clear for Ekumfi to have its elections.”
