We’re all works in progress, says marriage counsellor

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday, Josephine Adedipe urged couples to be intentional and strategic about their relationship

Josephine Adedipe, a marriage counsellor has said that being compatible in a relationship involves compromising in some instances.

This, she believes is crucial in ensuring the success of the relationship, which could subsequently lead to marriage.

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on the topic: “The compatibility factor: mismatches as a challenge in relationships”, Adedipe urged couples to be intentional and strategic about their relationship.

“The compatibility factor doesn’t mean that you will not have divergent views or opinion, but there must be a meeting point for both of you to come together to reason together,” she said.

“You’re not God; you can’t change anybody. You have to learn to celebrate your differences. There will be compromises, there will be negotiations and over time, something beautiful will emerge.

“Don’t build blocks. Let there be bridges so you can reach your partner. We’re all works in progress,” the marriage counsellor said.
