North East Region: Bawumia refurbishes two deteriorating health facilities

The two facilities, Walewale Government hospital and the Wulugu health centre, have been in a deplorable state for the past years

Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia has refurbished two health facilities in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region.

The two facilities, Walewale Government Hospital and the Wulugu Health Centre have been in a deplorable state for the past years and have now been given a facelift by the vice-president to create a good atmosphere for the health experts and the patients.

The Walewale District Hospital, the first government health facility in the North East Region was also in a poor state until the vice-president refurbished it recently.

Unlike the Wulugu health centre, some parts of the building had developed dangerous cracks in the walls while the ceilings and zinc were in a bad condition, thus, causing leakages whenever it rains.

Meanwhile, residents of Yizesi in the Mamprugu Moaduri District of the North East Region are appealing to the Vice President and the government to support the health centre in the community with other wards to add to the already existing two wards at the facility.

The residents say the facility is the second-recognised health centre in the district but has inadequate wards to admit patients.

They also appealed for beds, consumables, and non-consumables to be provided to the facility to enhance quality healthcare in the area.
