“No song should beat ‘Lomo Lomo’ in any category,” says KiDi

Ghanaian Afrobeats sensation KiDi is calling on fans to back his hit single Lomo Lomo, insisting it deserves to win in every category it’s nominated in the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA26).
In a passionate social media post on X (formerly Twitter), the Touch It hitmaker declared: “No song should beat Lomo Lomo in ANY category! But I need you to vote, my loves.”
The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) is set to take place on 10 May 2025, at the Grand Arena.
Top contenders for the prestigious Artiste of the Year award include Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, Team Eternity Ghana, Kweku Smoke, King Paluta, and Joe Mettle.
“Lomo Lomo,” which features fellow Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif, has seen impressive success since its release on 31 July 2024. The track soared to the top of major charts, including Apple Music’s Top 100 Ghana and Audiomack’s Top 10 Weekly Ghana list.
The music video for the track also performed remarkably well, earning over 1 million views on YouTube just 11 days after it dropped—cementing its status as a fan favorite.
Produced by the duo Ugly & Tough, Lomo Lomo explores the overwhelming and almost mystical grip of love. KiDi explained in an interview that “Lomo Lomo” is a Ga term meaning “curse” or “spell,” a metaphor for the intense emotions conveyed in the song.
As the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) draw closer, artistes vying for top honours are ramping up their campaigns in the final weeks before the event.
Some have brought in professional PR teams to push their agendas, while others are opting for a more direct approach, engaging with fans and rallying support through social media and various platforms.
