Nine injured as NPP and NDC supporters clash in Mamobi – police launch manhunt

According to the police, so far seven of the individuals injured in the Mamobi clashes on Sunday have been treated and discharged

At least nine people sustained injuries following a violent confrontation between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, a suburb of Accra, on Sunday (13 October).

Seven of those injured have been treated and discharged while two remain in hospital, according to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service.

The cause of the violent incident was not immediately known.

The security agency assured the public that calm has been restored in Mamobi, and an intelligence-led operation is under way to arrest perpetrators identified during preliminary investigations.

The police reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining public order as the 2024 general elections approach.
