NextGen Infraco senior manager declared “missing” found at a police station

Mintah was allegedly taken away by unidentified individuals from the premises of the National Communication Authority (NCA) in Accra

The senior manager of NextGen InfraCo, Tony Mintah, who was declared missing earlier today has been found at a police station in Accra, the police have said.

Earlier on Wednesday (23 October), the Ghana Police Service launched an investigation into the whereabouts of Mintah.

Mintah was allegedly taken away by unidentified individuals from the premises of the National Communication Authority (NCA) in Accra.

However, Asaase News sources say, Mintah was picked up by the police in a private vehicle under circumstances that suggest the incident is unrelated to his role at the company or the upcoming launch of Ghana’s 5G network, scheduled for 1 November 2024.

The sources indicate that he was walking with his team a few minutes before 11am when officers apprehended him.

It has also emerged that his detention is linked to a civil matter, and the alleged kidnapping has nothing to do with his work at NextGen InfraCo.

Asaase News sources confirmed that the apprehension is not work-related, dispelling initial speculation surrounding his disappearance.
