Retain me to do more, assemblyman hopeful for Hangaline

The Electoral Commission (EC) has said that all is set for the district-level elections, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 19 December 2023

The assemblyman hopeful for Hangaline/Ngbaripe/Allassankura electoral area in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region, Sumaila Rashid, otherwise known as Atalia, has made a passionate appeal to electorates to vote for him to retain his position.

He has promised to embark on more developmental work for his people.

Speaking to Asaase News in Damongo during his campaign to interact with the people and seek their votes in the upcoming district assembly elections, Atalia said he has done marvelously well for the people in his first term and that if he is voted again, he will do more for them.

“The people know that I’m doing a lot for them and they know that if they retain me, I can do better than my opponents,” Atalia said.

Touching on some of the initiatives in the area, the incumbent assemblyman noted that he has lobbied with World Vision Ghana to get a Gari processing centre for women, among other ventures including the mechanisation of boreholes in the electoral area.

He added that there is ongoing work on a storm drain in the area, which he is monitoring to make sure quality work is delivered to the people.

Out of five aspirants vying for the position, Rashid is confident of beating his opponents to represent the people.

“I’m pleading with my people, they should try and retain me through my hard work. I’m number four on the ballot, so 4more to do more,” he said.
