A founding member of New Patriotic Party (NPP) who was also the current director of research at the Office of the President, Victor Newman, has died after a short illness.
A source close to the family said he died after a short illness today (Thursday 10 December) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Victor Newman was appointed as the director of research at the Presidency in 2017.
Before his appointment, he worked for the economic research and planning services department of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and then at Western Castings Ltd and Ghana Exim Economic Consultants.
From 2008 until 2016, he served as director of research to the election campaigns for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Newman is survived by his wife and four children, including the newly elected MP for Okaikwei South, Dakoa Newman.
