Two die in Buipe – Tamale highway crash

Fourteen others got injured when a driver of a bus lost control of the wheel following a tyre burst on the highway

At least two persons have been confirmed dead in an accident on the Buipe – Tamale highway in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The incident which occurred on Thursday near Sarikyi-Kura left 14 others injured.

According to the police, the driver of KIA Grandbird with registration number GR 7287-21 lost control of the vehicle following a tyre burst and rammed into a vehicle from the opposite direction.

There were 48 passengers onboard, police spokesperson for the Savannah Region Inspector Adjekum Owusu confirmed to Asaase News.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital pending autopsy and identification whilst the injured have also seen treated and discharged.
