Trigger-happy driver, victim die after shooting incident in Kumasi

The Police have confirmed the death of two persons involved in Tuesday's shooting incident in Kumasi

The police in the Ashanti Region have confirmed the death of the driver, who shot another person on Tuesday after an altercation at Ayeduase near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Samson Zabanga’s death comes barely 24 hours after that of Kwame Amoah, the man he shot three times for reckless driving, the Public Relations Officer at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, confirmed.

Background

On Tuesday, a man shot himself following a misunderstanding with another person, who warned him against reckless driving at Ayeduase near Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Prior to shooting himself, Samson Zabanga, 31, shot Kwame Amoah, 52, three times in the stomach after returning a slap from the suspect.

Zabanga, according to eyewitnesses ,was quarrelling with a woman who sat in the front seat of his KIA optima vehicle.

Zabanga shot himself after he was surrounded by the police who rushed to the scene to prevent a mob action.

Kumasi shooting

The victim (Amoah) had moved in to tell the driver (Samson) to drive cautiously on the busy road when he was caught in traffic.

The two were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where they passed on.
