The national organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku, and his team of party activists have escaped unhurt in a bad accident on the Ejisu-Konongo highway in the Ashanti Region.
Information reaching Asaase Radio says that a tricycle crossed Awuku’s vehicle just after Ejisu and his driver may have lost control over the car brakes. The Toyota SUV then veered off the road and was damaged in the process.
The NPP national organiser and his team have been training party organisers and mobilisers in the lead-up to the December elections.
Awuku and his team were in the Western North Region yesterday (7 October 2020) in the company of Justin Kodua Frimpong, the chief executive officer of the Youth Employment Authority (YEA), Nana Tima Boakye, deputy co-ordinator for the Free SHS Programme, Mark Sasu Mensah, chief executive officer of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System, Maame Afia Akoto, deputy chief executive officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), and Alfreda Aboagye, the Eastern regional director of MASLOC.
The NPP organiser and his team were on their way to Koforidua in the Eastern Region from Kumasi to engage NPP party executive in that region as part of their preparations ahead of the 7 December 2020 general elections.
