Afiadenyigba robbery: Police arrest five more suspects

A joint operation with the people of the community led to the arrest of five more suspects last week

The police in the Volta Region have arrested five more armed robbers in connection with a robbery incident at a company in Anlo-Afiadenyigba.

A statement issued by the police on Wednesday (6 October) said intelligence had also led to the arrest of two other suspects linked to the robbery.

A joint operation with the people of the community led to the arrest of five of the suspects last week.

The police have therefore advised business owners to screen and monitor potential staff thoroughly before and after employment.

Meanwhile, the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, and POMAB members paid a 36-hour working visit to the Afram Plains and other areas of the Eastern Region.

The visit gave the IGP the opportunity to interact with police officers, chiefs, opinion leaders and students and pupils at some schools.

The places the party visited included Nkawkaw, Mpraeso, Obo, Nkwatia, Abene, Asakraka, Ekyeamanfrom, Maamekrobo, Forifori, Tease, Agyata and Donkorkrom.

Other settlements were Adiemmra, Amankwa, Kwahu Tafo, Kwahu Bepong and Kwahu Twenedurase, with multiple stops at police duty points mounted by the special Anti-Robbery Taskforce and the local police.
