Man killed in Kasoa daylight robbery

The man was shot dead when he emerged from a commercial bus with an envelope containing unspecified amount of money

A man believed to be in his forties has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Opeikuma Junction, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.

The victim met his untimely death after emerging from a commercial bus, popularly called “trotro”, as he had in his possession a brown envelope containing an unspecified sum of cash.

He is said to have been followed by the armed robbers from the Kasoa New Market Area, where he had cashed out money from a financial institution.

According to the police, the man was shot at after exchanging words with the suspected robbers.

The Central Regional Police Command has transferred the body of the man to the Police Hospital in Accra.

The police have launched an investigation into the crime.
