The lifeless body of a man aged 66 has been found at a guest house in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
William Agyei is said before his death to have lodged at the Adom Guest House in the company of a woman believed to be in her early thirties.
Officers of the Ghana Police Service in the Effuse District who confirmed the incident said they received a telephone call about the incident on Sunday from the owner of the guest house.
External inspection of the body by the police showed no marks of violence, other than foaming at the mouth.
Regalia
The body of the dead man has since been deposited at the St Joseph’s Hospital morgue for preservation, awaiting an autopsy.
A bag containing the personal belongings of the man, including a chief’s regalia and the sum of GHC2,000, was also found in the room.
The whereabouts of the woman are yet to be established by the police.
Meanwhile, a Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number ER 1614-17, belonging to the deceased, has been taken to the police station for further examination.
