Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, says he has been fooled so many times as a businessman but that will not deter him from working hard.
The maverick MP said “yes, of course, several times” in an answer to a question whether he has been fooled before, adding, that [being fooled so many time] only made him “wiser and never got to repeat those mistakes again.”
Agyapong said, “once I’ve been fooled, I don’t seek revenge to come after you with attacks or anything but my revenge is to prove to you that you are a fool.
“What I mean by that is that when you dupe me, you’ll definitely come back to me again and when you come back it means you are a fool. Sometimes I give you latitude – you go the law will deal with you. So I’ve been fooled several but it’s okay,” he said.
Fighting for the vulnerable
Agyapong said his life satisfaction comes from being able to fight for the vulnerable.
Speaking to Kojo Mensah on Sunday Night on Asaase Radio, the governing New Patriotic Party lawmaker said he does not believe in wealth.
“I believe in working hard for money and everything but I don’t cherish it. So long as I am able to give satisfaction to a Ghanaian, I am satisfied,” he said.
Agyapong said he does not listen to advise in business because he makes a lot of mistakes when he does.
“In business, when I listen to too much advice I make a lot of mistakes because it takes me so long to arrive at a decision that this is what I’m going to do.”
Kennedy Agyapong added, “I put in a lot of thinking…Anytime I listen to people about investment I make mistakes. But as for politics, I have advisors and they talk to me a lot.”
