Mohammed Salisu on right track to make Monaco debut after injury recovery
Salisu made a 15 million pound move from Southampton in August but a groin injury has delayed his competitive debut for the Red and Whites.
Mohammed Salisu is “on the right track” to make his long-awaited competitive debut for AS Monaco, says coach Adi Hütter.
The Ghanaian defender has recovered from his injury and has been included in the squad for Friday’s Ligue 1 game against Paris St. Germain.
“Salisu will be with us tomorrow, he will be part of the group of 21 players we are taking for this trip. I can’t say if he will be in the team, but in any case he is on the right track to return to the competition.” Adi Hütter said at a press conference.
The 24-year-old made a 15 million pound move from Southampton in August but a groin injury has delayed his competitive debut for the Red and Whites.
Salisu underwent pubalgia surgery in September after suffering persistent pain.
The former Real Valladolid center-back last played a competitive game for Southampton against Tottenham in March 2023.
Monaco are currently 3rd in Ligue 1 after 12 matches, 3 points behind leaders PSG.
