Kwarteng secured 440 votes, defeating Lawrence Nana Obeng Bondah, his main contender, who received 245 votes

New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in Obuasi West have re-elected Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng as their parliamentary candidate for the upcoming general elections.

Kwarteng secured 440 votes, defeating Lawrence Nana Obeng Bondah, his main contender, who received 245 votes. Faustina Oppong, the only female candidate, managed to secure eight votes.

Out of 722 delegates, 695 participated in the exercise supervised by the Electoral Commission at the Len Clay Sports Stadium amid heavy security on Saturday (10 February).

The Obuasi West parliamentary primary was initially suspended due to legal challenges. In his victory speech, Kwarteng expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and called for unity within the party for success in the upcoming elections.
