Funny Face granted GHC20,000 bail

The comedian is expected to report himself to the police twice a week after being granted bail

Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, better known to the public as Funny Face, has been granted bail by the Kaneshie District Court.

The court admitted Funny Face to GHC20,000 bail with two sureties and also ordered him to report to the police twice a week.

The case was adjourned to Wednesday 24 November 2021.

Funny Face was recently discharged by the Accra Psychiatric Hospital after undergoing two medical examinations. He was expected to appear before the court on 10 November 2021, but was sent to court before that date because of recent events.

On 20 October 2021, the Kaneshie District Court directed the police to refer the comedian to the psychiatric hospital for checks.

The court gave the order following a request by the police to have the comedian examined psychiatrically. A full medical report on him was submitted to the court.
