Armed robbers shoot driver at Wulugu Senior High School

The robbers bolted with a total of GHS6,500 after shooting the driver who was on his way to purchase tomatoes in Burkina Faso

Armed robbers have allegedly shot a 25-year-old man at the entrance of Wulugu Senior High School in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region.

According to an eyewitness account, Osei Gideon, was on his way to Burkina Faso to buy tomatoes but upon reaching the entrance of the school, the robbers shot him and bolted with an estimated GHS4,000.

They also made away with GHS2,500 from another vehicle which was also moving in the same direction to buy tomatoes from Burkina Faso.

The incident happened on Saturday 2 January 2021, the police confirmed.

Osei is currently responding to treatment at the Walewale Government hospital.
