President Akufo-Addo has realigned seven ministries as he set up his government for his second term in office, a statement from the Office of the President has announced.
“The president has effected this realignment because virtually all these special-purpose ministries have achieved the purposes for which they were established,” said a statement signed by Eugene Arhin, the acting director of communications in the Office of the President.
“The Office of the Senior Minister has also been abolished.”
The seven ministries are: Aviation, Business Development, Inner-City and Zongo Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning, Regional Reorganisation and Development, and Special Development Initiatives.
This will produce 28 ministries in total, down from the 36 during President Akufo-Addo’s first term in office.
