In a tweet on Sunday, Wizkid said there were safety and production concerns "that prevented me from putting on a high quality show that my fans deserve"

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has apologised to his fans in Ghana over his inability to show up at a much-talked about concert in Accra on Saturday (10 December).

Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart,” Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun – popularly known as Wizkid – tweeted on Sunday. “First and foremost I wanna apologise to all my fans! Y’all know I would never do anything, without a serious reasoning behind it.”

He said there were safety and production concerns “that prevented me from putting on a high quality show that my fans deserve.”

Wizkid said he will make it up to his Ghanaian fans soon.
