A/R: 10 NPP supporters injured in car crash

Ten members of the NPP Loyal Ladies are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after a motor crash

At least 10 members of Loyal Ladies, a group affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, after their vehicle crashed on Monday, 23 November 2020.

Police sources said the incident occurred around 7pm.

Sources at the Ghana Police Service at the Bekwai Division say the women supporters were returning from a mini-rally at Dompoase in the Bekwai Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The driver of the Nissan Urvan bus with registration number GW 4096-20 rammed into a Toyota Hilux pick-up driven by a Catholic Priest, who sustained injuries in the process, the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP, Francis Adomako, confirmed to Asaase News.

Monday’s accident is coming barely a week after seven supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost their lives in a ghastly accident at Ejura in the Ashanti Region, leaving dozens injured.

The accident occurred at Frante near the Ejura/Sekyedumase Constituency of the Ashanti Region 24 hours after a similar incident occurred in the New Edubiase constituency.

The party has since suspended all campaigns in the Ejura Constituency following the tragedy.
