New York chapter of NPP eulogises Daniel Kingsley Atta Boafo and bids him farewell

Daniel Kingsley Atta Boafo, outgoing consul general of Ghana in New York City, with members of the New York chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)

It was a moment full of emotion as Ghana’s consul general in New York City, Kingsley Atta Boafo, visited the New York chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the last time before returning to Ghana after his tour of duty in the United States of America.

From the party’s leadership to dozens of guests at the meeting, individuals took turns to eulogise the statesman par excellence for his selfless service to Ghanaians in the New York City area and beyond.

During his stay in the United States, Atta Boafo was an omnipresent figure from diplomatic circles at most Ghanaian community events, covering faith-based, traditional and social organisations.

Whenever he was called on to address such group, he would take his time to explain Ghana government policies to suit the understanding of the ordinary Ghanaian abroad.

The hard-working consul general assisted Ghanaians in the United States with acquiring Ghanaian passports, visas and, more recently, the Ghana Card after this was extended to those living in the diaspora.

Guests at the meeting with the NPP’s New York chapter seized the opportunity to recount the good deeds of the outgoing consul general.

On behalf of NPP New York and members of the party from across the United States, Frank Antwi, the chairman of the New York chapter, thanked the consul general for his selfless service to the Ghanaian community as well as the party.

He also appealed to Atta Boafo to use his experience to help the next government remove some of the obstacles at the airports for travellers when using their Ghana Card alongside other passports.
